Locker Room Renovation Project

At the Y, our focus is on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. With an increase in participation at our Y, we have decided to undergo a renovation that will better accommodate the ever changing needs of our valued members.

Starting on February 20, 2012, we will be adding more private locker room space by converting the boys, girls and current special needs locker rooms into private locker rooms. During the project, the boys, girls and current special needs locker rooms will be closed. Everyone will be using the men’s and women’s locker rooms. We will have locker room attendants scheduled during the renovation to assist children in locker rooms when their parent/guardian is not present.

This remodel project is expected to last approximately 10 weeks. In an effort to keep all members and visitors updated on the project, renderings of the new locker rooms are displayed in the YMCA facility, along with updates as construction progresses. The area being renovated will be secured to prevent access. Here’s a snapshot of what to expect once the renovation is completed:

12 private locker rooms large enough to accommodate a parent and their children, with showers and changing area.
4 accessible bathrooms - two designated for females and two designated for males.
2 additional private locker rooms, which will be fully handicapped accessible.
A lounge area with seating and a great view of the large pool.
Common areas with lockers, mirrors, sinks, hair dryers and swimsuit extractors.

We anticipate that this renovation will have minimal impact on your experience with the Marshfield Clinic Health System YMCA. All program areas will remain open during the renovation. Thank you for your patience and continued support while we make improvements to our facility in an effort to meet the changing needs of our valued members.
